bessie coleman was a great bibliography about a woman who a lot of people didnt see much in. when she was little she worked hard in the cotton fields like most black people did a long time ago. when she got older she started working in barber shop which took up a lot of her life. when she finally relized that she thought that she needed something that could make other people (espeically whites) be impressed about how blacks can do the same things that white people can and that they are really the same in the inside no matter how you look at it. one day she was walking back from work and a plane flew over her and she got it! she wanted to be a pilot. as soon as posible she took a flight to atlanta, texas, where she was hoping to start another life trying to be equal to others. she began finding places that might be able to teach her to fly but all of them were owned by unfair white people. finally she found one person who would consider to teach her. when she finally got in the air with her teacher she lost control and crashed. she was alive but ver badly hurt. but that didnt stop bessie. she tried again and did succeed. soon enough she was taking flights all over the world to preform wonderful tricks that she did in the air. one time when bessie was preforming on long island she did a trick that got her killed and from then on she became the worlds first black woman pilot.

love, stargirl
stargirl has now moved away from the person she is always thinking about, Leo. she writes "letters" to Leo about her experiences to a new place. Except for the part that she doesn't send the letters. That is mostly why it is called love, stargirl.
At the late beginning of the book she meets a girl named dootsie and it turns out that dootsie is about 10 years younger than her but still seems to have a fun time hanging out with her. to me, she kind of seems like a babysitter for dootsie. they do mostly everything together which sometimes can be very annoying.
Stargirl is smart and uneasy person. she knows how to say how she feels most of the time. she is home schooled, so she doesn't make much friends. Stargirl is mostly called as a "outcast" because of the way she dresses and acts around people so the book tells a lot about how you can not judge a person from how they look on the outside. i think that this might be the theme because on the outside she looks like she would be weird and unfriendly but really she is the complete opposite.
